Discussion:

    The class gateway is one of the most accessible places on campus and is important to a student's time when they arrive and when they graduate from the university. Its proximity to campus as well as uptown makes it one of the busiest spots on campus and becomes an easy way to reach students and faculty at Ohio University. Many organizations use that space as a recruitment space or asking passersby to help with fundraising. It is an easy place to catch people’s attention when they are walking by. With the traffic of people, one important rule is to stand out of the way of people walking through uptown or other places on campus if you are stopping to talk with others.

  Rules: Hold larger (sanctioned) events here No lounging Walk around not through  “Forbidden” Discussion:      The rules for this place are made for shared human made space and I think that brings with it a different set of expectations. Built environments such as these have multiple uses at different times and events going on. During events this place brings people together in a large social setting because of that we believe the rules such as walk around if not staying. You always need to respect the human need for entertainment and to not interrupt that. Along with the respect of attendees we need to respect those performing. Depending which kind of performance is going on we need to stand to show we are paying attention and respect the performer. This can also hinder others' view of what is going on. During non-event times rules shift a little bit to a more calming area.
